The Los + Ecoístas Mexico environmental awards have officially arrived. For the second consecutive year, this initiative aims to generate a positive impact by identifying and recognizing the tireless efforts of those leading the way toward sustainability.
Somos Ecoístas, the environmental movement driven by Piñero, is committed to promoting a more ecoísta way of life across its areas of operation—one that is dedicated to caring for the environment. Building on successful editions in the Dominican Republic and Spain, we have now launched the second edition of these awards in Mexico, featuring new categories that are more inclusive, more sustainable, and, indeed, more ecoísta.
In these awards, we recognize individuals, companies, and organizations that protect the planet through sustainable practices, while also introducing new categories that take the initiative to the next level. We are embarking on an exciting journey in which we will highlight high-value environmental initiatives in Mexico.
As we aim for you to join the movement, connect with our cause, and become a true ecoísta, we invite you to discover everything you need to know to apply for our environmental awards in Mexico.
The Most Ecoísta Companies
One of the most tangible ways to be truly ecoísta is to bring your environmental purpose to life within your organization or company. Creating a positive impact by reducing the footprint of operations, promoting a more sustainable tourism model, and addressing climate change are all ways to help shape a better future for both people and the environment.
In the first edition of the awards in Mexico, within the companies category, recognition was given to Grupo Bimbo for its comprehensive sustainability project; Flora y Fauna Grupo Xcaret for mangrove reforestation and beach clean-up efforts; The Seas We Love for its work against sargassum and in favor of marine biodiversity; Granjas KAKO for reducing plastic use in its logistics; Hotel ÚNICO 20º87º for its focus on a sustainable and inclusive tourism model; and PASA for restoring coastal ecosystems in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen.
If your company or organization integrates sustainable projects as a core part of its operations, we look forward to your application. Submit your candidacy.
New Categories
This year, we are introducing new categories to also recognize the contributions of key actors in the fields of journalism, opinion leadership, and content creation—individuals who are making an impact through their narratives across various environments.
What are these new categories?
Ecoísta Advocates
We select experts in environmental protection and investigative journalism in the field of sustainability. We recognize journalists and/or communicators specialized in sustainability outreach who demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to influence ESG-related discussions.
Ecoísta Opinion Leaders
We recognize opinion leaders who understand that their influence goes beyond a platform—it is a responsibility. These are individuals who use their visibility to raise awareness, foster necessary conversations, and promote real change in our society. Because when a voice is raised with purpose, it has the power to transform realities—and they deserve recognition as well.
Ecoísta Content Creators
We recognize those voices active on digital platforms that create meaningful content—educating, raising awareness, and inspiring collective action so that, through small individual efforts, we can all be part of the change. Leading Mexican content creators will be present at the Los + Ecoístas Mexico 2026 Awards.
