What are ‘The + Ecocentric’ Awards?
As true Ecoists, through “The + Ecocentric” Awards we recognize the individuals, companies, and organizations that are already leading with purpose and taking action in the face of climate change—human, conscious, and committed initiatives that strive to generate real impact on people and on the planet.
Because that is what it means to be an Ecoist: to feel that this planet is ours, to care for it as such, and to work each day to leave the world in a better state than we found it.
These awards celebrate those who raise awareness, inspire, and mobilize employees, suppliers, customers, and local communities; those who promote responsible tourism; and those who encourage all of us to contribute our own small Ecoist actions—individual actions that, together, change everything.

If you wish to take part in “The + Ecocentric” Awards, there is only one requirement: to demonstrate your commitment through action. Applications must reflect the measures—large or small—that you or your organization are undertaking to care for what belongs to you: the planet.
These actions should integrate real environmental criteria into your activity and promote sustainability in the areas of energy and climate, circularity, and/or biodiversity.
Individuals and companies may submit their application by detailing projects within any of these areas. Initiatives that educate and raise environmental awareness; the incorporation of renewable energies; investments in sustainable projects; the reduction of carbon emissions; the protection of biodiversity—flora and fauna; the advancement of the circular economy; energy efficiency; and responsible water management will all be valued. In short, anything that demonstrates that you are already caring for the planet because it is yours as well.
New Categories
In 2026, we take a step further. Because change grows when the voices that drive it multiply, “The + Ecocentric” Awards introduce three new categories that celebrate different—yet equally valuable—ways of inspiring positive impact:
Key Opinion Leaders (KOL): Figures who use their voice to promote sustainability within their sphere of influence, inspiring thousands through their example.
Prescribers: Professionals and communicators who, through their expertise and their projects, encourage responsible practices in society and in the tourism sector.
Influencers: Content creators who connect with new audiences, communicating the importance of caring for the planet in a creative and accessible way. This category will also be 100% Ecoist: the winner will be chosen by the public through an open vote.
Those submitting a nomination must provide a justification—up to 200 words—explaining the sustainable project or initiative that supports the nominated individual, company, or organization. A real story of impact, one that demonstrates that when we care for what is ours, we care for the planet.
Particular consideration will be given to indicators that reflect the reach and effectiveness of the initiative: quantitative data, number of participants, investment made, results achieved… in short, clear evidence that the Ecoist action is already generating a positive impact.
Candidates selected for the Public Award category must present the projects or initiatives in which they are involved, detailing how they contribute to protecting the environment or promoting more responsible tourism. We want the public to understand their impact, feel connected to it, and be able to vote inspired by what truly drives transformation.
The participation period for “The + Ecocentric” Awards will begin on 24 November 2025 and will remain open until December 16, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. for all categories except the Influencer category.
In the case of the Influencer category, public voting will be open from December 2025 through January 2026, allowing the community to choose the person who most inspires them to care for the planet.
Please note that nominations submitted after the established deadline will not be accepted. Because every Ecoist action matters… and so does every date.
Once the participation period has ended, the appointed jury will convene to evaluate each nomination and select the nine winners of this edition. This process will assess not only the projects themselves, but also the intent, the impact, and the way in which each initiative contributes to caring for what belongs to all of us: the planet.
The new categories—Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and Prescribers—will follow the same evaluation process as the traditional categories, through the jury’s internal deliberation.
As for the Influencer category, its process will be unique… and deeply Ecoist, as it will incorporate the voice of the public.
Before 15 January, the + Ecocentric will notify the candidates in all categories—except the Influencer category—of the jury’s decision by email.
In the Influencer category, the winner will be chosen through a public vote and will be announced live during the event, as this award quite literally belongs to the community that makes it possible.
The official presentation of the 2026 “The + Ecocentric” Awards will take place on 22 January at FITUR, at the Piñero Group stand 3B03, in IFEMA (Madrid).

Our awards
“The + Ecocentric” awards are not mere trophies. They are pieces with soul, with history, and with purpose. Each piece recognizes not only the efforts of the award recipients, but also the talent of the artists and artisans who make it possible—professionals committed to art, sustainability, and positive impact. Because an Ecoist award must also serve as a tangible example of what we stand for.
Our 2026 award
In this edition, the award has been commissioned from the Assido Foundation, a non-profit organization that, since 1981, has been dedicated in the Region of Murcia to the treatment, support, care, training, and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities from birth and throughout all stages of their lives.
Our History
Candidates must submit a justification of max. 200 words for the presentation of their nomination, in which they explain their environmentally sustainable project/initiative that makes them worthy of the +Ecoists 2025 award.
