In our case, reforestation represents a clear way of demonstrating progress and environmental responsibility. Therefore, we continue with our \u201cOne Person. One Tree\u201d challenge<\/strong>. As part of this initiative, we planted 410 mara (Swietenia<\/em>, commonly known as mahogany wood) and bamboo trees in the province of La Altagracia, Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community Reforestation in San Rafael de Yuma<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the Book Fair in San Rafael de Yuma, 65 colleagues from Grupo Pi\u00f1ero participated in this environmental action. They represented the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts and Bahia Principe Residences divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the activity was carried out in collaboration with the La Altagracia Provincial Directorate of Environment and Natural Resources. Moreover, 50 students from San Rafael de Yuma Secondary School joined the initiative. As a result, the project strengthened ties between the company and the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tree Planting Activities with Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

First, the students planted 80 trees in their high school sports grounds. Furthermore, they learned about the importance of reforestation for soil health and water conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, they understood how trees provide shade and improve recreational spaces. Therefore, this activity combined education with environmental awareness in a practical way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reforestation Along the Yuma River<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, all participants from the Ecocentric Movement moved to the banks of the Yuma River. This area is located near the center of the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, they planted approximately 330 additional trees. Consequently, the initiative contributed significantly to restoring local green areas and improving biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environmental Impact and Community Connection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Finally, this ecocentric action demonstrated more than environmental commitment. It also strengthened relationships between all participants involved in the reforestation project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, this activity shows that reforestation in the Dominican Republic is not only about planting trees. Instead, it is about building community, raising awareness, and promoting a sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
